New PT server Awful?

Ok a trademark whine post coming up by myself about the new PT server

Last night I played on the pt server and actually quite enjoyed it, I log on and play a bit tonight and its like winding back the clock to when CSS came out and any old idiot could make a server (Us included way back 3 years ago when we first got a server).

So from the very start:

1. One thing I've always tried to do is make us look respectful with a decent website, decent logo and decent graphic's to make it look as though we are decent organisation/clan, that isn't just a bunch of 12 year old kids. So when I actually logged onto the PT server today I actually felt embarassed. Cheesy music, a truely Awful Banner thats murdered the Clan logo, (How many times do I have to say keep the clan logo fucking consistent) Horrible text with cringe worthy messages "We are always looking for new talent", what the hell is going on![/b]

2. I dunno how many times I have said to Snake about how I hate idiots, and people abusing server commands etc, Am refereing to do we really need constant admin msg's saying NO CAMPING=KICK etc, people getting spam slapped and slayed? No? So I log on today and find people get spam slapped about the map, people getting slayed for camping etc. Camping is part of the game, when T's are sitting at a choke point i.e the example tonight at Long A double/double doors and for the past 4 rounds CT's are constantly rushing the same area how can you justify this as camping?

3. Mid game the server gets restarted back to Dust2, Okay I thought, it does seem a bit laggy so fair enough - So getting back into the game and then it gets restarted again 5 mins later, I ask whats going on...? for one of the PT players to tell me it was restarted to listen to the music again. So not only do I have to listen to the cheesy music again I need to see that dire embrassement of a banner again!

Had enough and logged off at this point.

So to sum up. Please get your act together, Sort the server out! Sort out the childish admins, Its like a kid with a new toy, that can't leave it alone. Having admin doesn't mean you have to act like idiots and make us out too look like a bunch twats.

Seriously if yous want to act like this and have your own rules and basically have a free for all please do it under your own name and not ours as we were that sort of clan 3 years ago, we aren't anymore and I'd like to keep it that way.

I'm going to have to agree with rza on this one, i love you pt lot as your up for a laugh etc but this has gone to far. Fair enough you want your own server and a bit of lee way, but dont go putting our name to shame. Admins are there to look after the server not abuse it. The music has to go and the banner is truely aweful, i wont be playing on your server until these things are sorted its a embrassement to be under the same tag, like iain says if thats what your about, go else where please. You can have a good active server with out having all that useless bullshit on it.

The server sounds as bad as the German 24/7 assault server I used to go on. I think to gain favoritism the admins should lay back and stop being so childish (as experienced myself on 2 incidents with the pt members) and strict about everything. OK, its your new server you want to show who's boss but each player should be treated loyal but with mild toleration if things get a bit beyond.

As to the introduction layout, from what rza and linky have said should be immediately worked on if you want to present this clan as a professional community. We are all here to help, everyone has ideas so if you need help I am sure someone will give you a hand if you struggle to find it.

I haven't been on the server my self but hopefully this friday my ISP will have got me back online and be looking forward to play on your server.

Sorry if anyone has a slight misunderstanding from what I have said above but my English is not brilliant. Do not under any circumstances take it personal.

i'd have to agree with iain for the most part, especially the music. I generally avoid servers that have over the top sounds and stuff like that on it, simply because its really not needed, and lasts for ages, so you cant actually hear anything for the best part of the first round u play. Quake sounds and stuff are ok, especially since they are optional ^_^

Also, having so much crap on doesn't it take longer to load onto the server if you are going on for the first time?

rza, that server is a mess. we are having problems every single day.. just ask king about it. ftp etc. but the admin part is easy. i can sort it out. i can take out the music and put a decent cover, but only if u give me the originals.

so:

1: nice into cover (give me the originals so that i can change it to fit the pt server)

2: no intro music

3: no one will get slayed again cus i gonna take out the admin rights from everyone till they lear how to use it, and ofc no more idiot restarts.

is it all, or i am missing something?

I advise you to provide training to your admins like myself and king have for our dm admins.We have also prepared a manual explaining the admin layout and what each does and what it's meant for.

Rza has the original intro image on PSD and can easily be edited.

btw lighting spent hours doing banners. if u think that´s sh**. well thats the best he did to help us, since we dont have the originais.. is that our fault
