RAM runs at different speeds just as your CPU does.

As with CPU's the more MHz (or GHz) the faster the CPU or RAM is. 667Mhz RAM is slow.

IMO you would be better geting 2GB of fast RAM (i.e. 1600Mhz) than 4GB of 667Mhz otherwise you'll end up with a 'bottleneck' from the RAM.

450 W PSU is a bit low tho. nVidia cards are pretty power hungry.
That type of card seems to use 310 W on peak load.
That leaves 140 W for the rest of the system. CBA checking how much the other parts will need. But it will be cutting it pretty close at best.
That PSU will run pretty hot this summer, it better not be fan-less imho. XD

Dimon, that is 310W for the whole system, not just the card. So 450 should be fine, assuming the test rig was roughly the same as Brizes set up...

450 is more then enough, and I dont think brize will need more drives or more then 1TB for now :>

and watt usage barely goes up with new technology anyway, since watt is more dependable on temperature which a component runs on

imo its okay that slow ram, dont forget its a cheap pc.

But ye might wanne ask for 800mhz ram maybe since that can only cost like 5€ more then the 667mhz. The highest for a private person is 1066 anyway.
and 1600mhz ram is dd3, which his mobo doesnt even support probably

Sytem requiremens from the 9800 GTX that XFX make does at least have some info on the whole matter.

I'm using 800 MHz ram atm, but the timings aren't bad so they do fine in gaming. :p

So 667mhz ram memory wont do it? Even though the company flagged this as a good 'gaming' computer. Talking bout the one i posted a page ago not in te topic at start.

well I'm guessing you are running that ram with 2.0V+, which you shouldnt. High voltage = higher latency timers. It could be even that a 800mhz runs faster then 1200mhz cause of this.
Shops barely sell 1200Mhz ddr2

667Mhz is enough, the difference would be barely noticable with 800Mhz. Tho if you can buy it for like 10€ more, you should do it

edit : I just looked up your MB random, it only supports till 1066 mhz :p
edit2 : oh you dummy, your running DDR3 ? i was talking bout DDR2. Anyway, how does that work DDR3 in a DDR2 slot :p ? digged up your hammer and other working tools xD ?
