Once we get wow sorted again ill get the ball rolling on this.

Out of interest would those who are bronze/silver level want to play each other in your own group or mix in with everyone else that are gold/plat level.

Reason I say is some players are significantly higher skilled than others and some games are guaranteed to only go one way. Harsh but being realistic its true.

So to keep things competitive could try a tiered league format:

Groups A:
Jupsik
Dreadz
Quantum
Linky
Rza

Group B:
Fxr
Razec
Cogswell
Tyrell
Randomtask

Everyone plays each other in their group.

In both leagues 1st to 4th go into the play offs where 1st plays 4th and 2nd plays 3rd. Till a winner is found.

Winner overall of group B playoffs gets promotion to group A

5th place of group A gets demoted to group B.

Thoughts?

Looks good to me, just one question:

Winner overall of group B playoffs gets promotion to group A

5th place of group A gets demoted to group B.

After this happens, would we then do a MLG style league or something with the new groups?

Would be season 2 effectively with the new groups.

Think as a base the above is the best structure to use for competitive games and people improving. You could add cups with both leagues mixed together, but lets stick to one tourney to start off with to see how successful it is before jumping the gun and getting ahead of ourselves.

MLG style is better suited to when everyone is around the same skill level. Which is the point of the tourney at the end of the day, to give people an incentive to want to get better. They're will be a prize for the winner of both leagues too.

The tiered league format does seem a much better option and should keep most of the matches pretty interesting rather than an easy win one way or another.

Me, Quantum and Tyrell are definitely in, also i have a friend who's gold league protos who's really keen on joining, i don't know if it would be awkward having another in group A but could be nice to have a protos in there.

Sounds like it would be a lot easier to have the tourney across a month but on set days, having that many games in one day would be pretty challenging.

I see, thinking ahead ^^
Looking forward to this, just hoping I'll get enough practice in before it kicks off

Forgot about your mate! Yeah he can be added in.

Also it would be over a month or so. No way can all this get done in a night.
