Intel and nVidia are always at the top on the ones I see...

CPU Benchmark on Crysis: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/charts/de ... 0,818.html

GPU Benchmark on Crysis: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/charts/ga ... 1,758.html

As an aside, I bought the Samsung i900h/Omnia as it was touted as being an 'iPhone Killer' with reviews placing it miles ahead of the iPhone. Oh how I regret that decision.

ye thats performance, im talking bout performance/price.

IF you wanne get a pc with the best performance in games for 800 euros you go AMD. What you all seem to forget is the pricy motherboard. Try if you can make a pc as good as mine with an intel setup.

And bout that the benchmark of graphics cards, why dont they put the 4780 x2 in Crossfire ?, the single one is only 2 points behind the SLI version of GTX.

also the cheapest 4870 is about €149 with 10.8 points, the cheapest GTX260 is €199 with 12.6 points.
Easy numbers to see which has best performance/price, I must say the GTX has had a bigger price reduction then the 4870.

next the 4650 vs the 8400, both 50€. Nvidea just loses on this one, cba to look up benchmarks but the difference is really big here, bout 40-50%

by all means try to prove me otherwise looking at the numbers

btw im no fanboy of ATI, what makes you think that, im not defending ATI, im defending numbers in performance, I've had 2 nvidea cards and 3 ATI cards, I havent had a problem ever with them.

So you got unlucky with ATI's cards, which made you dont wanne buy them anymore. big diff

i lol'd.

As far as price / performance goes, ATI have always been behind in market share and so have to offer better performance cheaper, not denying that.

Nvidia's lower tier cards that tend to be bought by people that are a) cheapskates or b) clueless idiots in the past haven't performed as well as the ATI cards at the same price range. But anyone that'd even get into a convo about gfx cards isnt going to care about that because they wouldn't be caught dead using a gfx card that low down the price scale.

What a load of BS. We got two ppl in this very thread that can claim the oposite. I do not regret getting my HD 4870 with 1 GB VRAM at all.
That make your statement false by that very same logic. :p

Imho get an ATI Radeon HD 4870 or an nVidia 285, depending on how much u can spend.

For CPU I reccommend either an Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 or an Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550.

Every single post in here and every post in your post in the Holiday forum suggests you feel strongly about ATI? As soon as we put a bad word in about ATI from a personal experience we're suddenly fanboys! Its such a cliche and typical response from those 2000000 ATI vs NVIDIA or INTEL vs AMD forums posts you see.

Big Diff :o ?

Am justifying why I'd not go for ATI over Nvidia, just like your justifying ATI over Nvidia for price/performance to basically palm my reasons off with big diff is like a knife in the back man! Shame on you!

CAN WE HAS A WINDOWS VS MAC FLAME WAR TOO PLEASE?!

For my two cents: Always had nVidia, see no reason to swap, so probably always will have nVidia.

I could be an asshole and say we've all used Nvidia cards here aswell with no problems, yet their has been problems with several ATI cards! Muahaha :P

And I could be an even bigger asshole and say I was in this very postion 3 month's ago and yous told me to go for the PC I showed yous with the ATI card in it, so much money, time and effort wasted on 2 faulty cards and shitty drivers :P

Anyway its up to Brize, its him thats forking out the cash.

Don't get me started on the PC vs MAC debate!

I'd have an Mac desktop in a heartbeat if it had the same gaming functionality as a PC.

the fanboy was rather a joke at the start of the topic.
lets call it subjective :p. Well you cant call me subjective either basing my opinion on benchmarks
